Biography:

Frank Werner has published more than 220 papers in international journals and several book contributions in applied mathematics, operations research and scheduling. He is the first author of the textbook ‘Mathematics of Economics and Business’ (Routledge, UK/USA, 2006) and an author of the monograph ‘Scheduling Under Uncertainty: Theory and Algorithms’ (Belarusian Science, 2010). He was also one of the two editors of the book ‘Sequencing and Scheduling with Inaccurate Data’ (Nova Science Publishers, 2014). He was also a guest editor of special issues in the journals Annals of Operations Research, Computers & Operations Research, International Journal of Production Research and Automation and Remote Control. Since 2012, he is an Associate Editor in International Journal of Production Research responsible for the area ‘Scheduling and Discrete Optimization’ and since 2014, he is also an Associate Editor for ‘Journal of Scheduling’ and ‘Operations Research and Decisions’. He is a member of the Editorial Board of International Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences (since 2009), of International Journal of Fuzzy System Applications (since 2012), of Journal of Applied Mathematics (since 2012), of World Journal of Methodology (since 2012), of Journal of Industrial and Management Optimization (since 2013) and of Operations Research Perspectives (since 2013). Frank Werner is also a member of the Advisory Board of International Journal of Operational Research/ Nepal (since 2011), and he was a member of the program committee of several conferences, e.g. the 14th IFAC Symposium of Information Control Problems in Manufacturing in Bucharest / Romania. Frank Werner acted as a referee for more than 35 international journals (e.g. Management Science, European Journal of Operational Research, Discrete Applied Mathematics, Annals of Operations Research). In addition, he was a supervisor of several Ph.D. and post-doc students (e.g. a supervisor of Dr. Svetlana Kravchenko who had several stays in Magdeburg within the period 2007 - 2014 supported by a grant from the Alexander-von-Humboldt Foundation). Since 2015, I am a member of the IFAC Committee ‘Manufacturing Modeling for Management and Control’ (TC 5.2).

He also was Head of department of Terotechnology in about 13 years, Linnaeus University, Sweden. He obtained his Ph.D. in Production Management, Lund University, Sweden. His specialties fit also in Industrial Engineering, Maintenance Technology and System Engineering.Terotechnology is a combination of engineering, management, financial and other practices applied to physical assets in pursuit of economic life cycle costs.He has several years´ industrial experiences from Iraq, Lebanon, Syria and Sweden.

Alessio Ishizaka is a Distinguished Professor in Decision Analysis. He was Head of the Information Systems, Supply Chain and Decision making Department from 2019 to 2022. He was also research lead and Deputy Director of the Centre of Operational Research and Logistics at the University of Portsmouth. Alessio received his PhD from the University of Basel (Switzerland). He worked successively for the University of Exeter (UK), University of York (UK) and Audencia Grande Ecole de Management Nantes (France). He has been visiting professor in several universities in Italy, France and Germany. His research is in the area of decision analysis, where he has published more than 120 papers. He is regularly involved in large European funded projects. He has been the chair, co-organizer and guest speaker of several conferences on this topic. He wrote the indispensable textbook Multicriteria Decision Analysis: methods and software.

Prof. Adrian Ioinovici is a chair professor in HIT, Israel, where he served as a Dean of Electrical Engineering. He is also a professor in NUAA, Nanjing, within the P R China plan” One thousand foreign experts”. He served in the period 2012-2016 as the Director of the Center of Power Electronics at the Sun Yat Sen University, Guangzhou.He is the author of the book Power Electronics and Energy Conversion Systems, Wiley@Sons Ltd., 2013, translated to Chinese in 2017. He authorized about 200 papers published in IEEE Transactions and IEEE conferences Proceedings, with a Scopus H-factor of 37 and a Google H-index of 47. He pioneered the research in switched-capacitor converters, large dc gain hybrid converters, and switched-capacitor multilevel inverters. He has served IEEE in different qualities, including Associate Editor of TCAS, TIE, TPEL, member of the Fellow Committee, chairman of the CAS Technical Committee on Power Electronics and Systems, guest editor-in-chief of special issues of IEEE Transactions.

Dr Chua Kian Jon, Ernest is currently an Associate Professor with the department of Mechanical Engineering, NUS. He has been working on air-conditioning systems since 1997. He conducts modeling and experimental works for HVAC applications. He has more than 120 international peer-reviewed journal publications related to building energy efficiency. He has won many awards for his research work on air-conditioning and dehumidification including a recent global award - WSSET (World Society for Sustainable Energy Technology) Innovation Awards 2016.
